Introduction to Eagle Rock

Eagle Rock. The any town USA neighborhood along Route 66 with a communal vibe and a lot of charm. Eagle Rock is named for its massive boulder at the district's north edge which contains an indentation that casts a shadow of an eagle on the rock at certain times of the day. Eagle Rock is just far enough from Hollywood to avoid the silicon and traffic, yet close enough to check out your favorite band at the Henry Fonda and be chilling back on your couch in 20 minutes post mayhem. It's not for everyone, but if you're looking for the anti-stereotypical LA hood and want a safe, multicultural and clean place to raise a family, Eagle Rock might be the neighborhood for you.

Eagle Rock is a kid friendly, family-oriented community. The public elementary, middle and high schools all rank an 800+ score and are blue ribbon schools, a rarity for an LA neighborhood. The preschools are all top notch and coveted such as the new Montessori school on Colorado. There are also many small businesses catered to the little tots like Peek-A-Boo, a huge and classy indoor playground. Don't forget the rec centers (like the Eagle Rock Rec Center built by famous architect Richard Neutra) and abundant beautiful outdoor parks and hikes too!

Eagle Rock isn't just for the kidoodles. There are some great dives and classy bars open 7 days a week if you're looking for your own local, Cheers-type watering hole such as The Black Boar, Colorado Wine Company or The Verdugo. Eagle Rock has some great eateries, from Thai to French (the famous Cafe Beaujolais!), Vietnamese to California Bistro, Eagle Rock has all the flavors to quench your palate. Although for a change of pace, Silver Lake, downtown and Pasadena are all a ten minute drive.

The demographic in Eagle Rock is diverse, from the blue collar working class to Hollywood writers and directors. Everyone seems to get along and know their neighbors. A regular day in an Eagle Rock resident's life is greeted with a smile when walking out of the front door.

Eagle Rock is home to numerous historic and architecturally significant homes, many done in the Craftsman, Georgian, Streamline Moderne, Art Deco and Mission Revival Style,
